Poison Toad is one of many Jianghu Internals, commonly considered to be marginally superior to School 3rd/4th Internals. Unlike School Internal, Jianghu Internals have a higher maximum level (up from 49 to 64 as of the World of Contenders update).

Obtaining

Levels 1 to 36:

• Exchange Blood Plum Daggers with Mysterious Expert in Chengdu (831,588) for a level.
• Exchange Tornado materials with Yue Mingke in Northern Desert (808,441) for a level.

Levels 37 to 64: Combine 10 Poison Toad Scroll Fragments for a level.

• Exchange Tornado materials with Yue Mingke in Northern Desert (808,441) for a fragment.
• World Boss may drop a fragment.

Playstyle Notes

Poison Toad, with its high brawn, breath, and stamina, allows for internal alchemy swapping for some pretty impressive results.  For instance, a character focused on external skills (Such as an RG who uses their Soul Chasing Claw skills primarily) could easily use a breath/dex swap to become much more competitive while maintaining the flexibility to switch into interally-oriented styles (Eagle Claw or Blood Killing Knife, for instance).

Likewise, the brawn could be swapped for an internal-focused character into spirit for some devastatingly high crit rates.

Special Effect

Level 6: When you take damage (but not while blocking), the attacker has a chance to receive a temporary debuff. When the debuff is stacked 8 times, the opponent takes damage.

Level 49: When you take damage (but not while blocking), the attacker has a chance to receive a temporary debuff. When the debuff is stacked 8 times, the opponent takes damage, interrupts his skills and forbids movement for 3s.
