About the Game
Age of Wushu is a free-to-play sandbox martial arts MMORPG developed by Snail. The game stands out in the MMORPG genre due to several unique features:
- Skill-Based Progression: Unlike traditional leveling systems, Age of Wushu employs a skill-based progression where players cultivate skills over time, reminiscent of systems in games like EVE Online.
- Open PvP with Consequences: The game offers open-world PvP, allowing players to engage in combat almost anywhere. Notably, actions have repercussions; for instance, engaging in criminal activities can lead to imprisonment, adding a layer of realism and consequence.
- Diverse Life Skills and Professions: Beyond combat, players can immerse themselves in various Life Skills such as Woodcutting, Weiqi Player, and Blacksmithing. These professions are integral to the game's economy and provide alternative gameplay avenues.
- Martial Arts Combat System: The combat is designed to reflect traditional martial arts, incorporating a rock-paper-scissors mechanic with blocks, feints, and attacks. This system emphasizes player skill and strategy over mere button-mashing.
- Wuxia-Themed Aesthetics and Movement: Drawing inspiration from wuxia films, the game allows characters to perform acrobatic feats like flying and running on water, enhancing the immersive martial arts experience.
Age of Wushu is currently in version 0.0.1.390. For information on other releases of the game, see Age of Wushu#Regional Releases.
